Le Lieu du Design, an association created in the Fall of 2008, was born from the Ile-de-France Regional Council’s and its Chair Jean-Paul Huchon’s desire to conceive a concrete, useful tool for promoting design. Indeed, design has become a major issue for economic competitiveness in the Paris region and the world. Le Lieu du Design is located at 74 rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine 75012 Paris.
Le Lieu du Design is a new structure initiated and supported by the Ile-de-France Region and the Ile-de-France Regional Council. Le Lieu du Design’s chairman is Jean-Paul Huchon, who also chairs the Ile-de-France Regional Council.
Le Lieu du Design’s goals are to:
Federate various actors implicated in design, an essential economic activity sector;
Convince the Paris regional small business industrial fabric to call upon design;
Accompany designers and ensure their international promotion;
Promote general public awareness by providing space for research, exhibitions, information, and dialogue.
Le Lieu du Design’s mission is also to promote creativity and innovation reinforcing the Paris region’s competitiveness and attractiveness.
