Main types of design

The concept of “design” is quite broad. It includes a huge number of different processes aimed at the creation of a product. In today’s society there are 15 basic types of design, which vary depending on the field.

• Landscape design. It includes a number of activities aimed at the improvement of the territory, taking into account its architectural, cultural and biological aspects.
• Architectural. This includes detailed development of the project of the future building (construction), taking into account current building regulations.
• Transport design is used to create reliable and comfortable vehicles, such as cars, trains and aircraft.
• Interior design. Its goal is to create a comfortable and aesthetically pleasing living environment for people. In today’s world, it has become quite commonplace to order an apartment or home design.
• Furniture design. It combines all kinds of activities to develop residential, commercial and industrial furniture.
• Urban environment design. It is done to create comfortable living conditions for residents of cities, so people can comfortably and safely move through the streets.
• The design of clothing, footwear and accessories. Strongly influenced by the world of fashion and cultural traditions, it satisfies an important human need to be beautiful and stylish.
• Book design shapes the nuances of artistic design, typographical composition, and text editing.
• Industrial. It involves designing not only the appearance of things, but also their functional side. An industrial designer is both an artist and a technician.
• Ecological. His main task is to restore the relationship between man and nature. The basis of this direction is the use of only natural materials, economical use of resources and respect for the environment.
• Artistic design is closely related to the interior and furniture. It is responsible for making sure that works of art are in harmony with their surroundings.
• Futurodesign is the development of daring and innovative projects that can be implemented into production in the future.
• Lighting. Used to showcase creative ideas for brightly colored holiday decorations, public events, and author’s art installations.
• Sound design is the process of creating original noise effects. It is most widely used in television, film production and show business, as well as in the creation of computer games.
