MatériO Materials Resource Center

MatériO’s materials resource center has been Le Lieu du Design’s materials resource center since April 1^st, 2009.

MatériO is a European network of independent information centers on materials and innovative products.

It was created in 2001 in Paris and provides members with a large selection of specific, reproducible and obtainable materials, key elements in the creation process.

This service's ambition is to forge links between creative people of diverse backgrounds - including architecture, industrial design, scenography, fashion design, publishing, or fine arts - and manufacturers, engineers or researchers.

What does MatériO offer?

• 3 showrooms, based in Paris, Antwerp and Barcelona. Within the physical materials libraries, several thousand specific products and materials samples are on display and can be touched. An amazing source of inspiration!
• A quality online database, easily accessed from our website www.materio.com.
  It houses our entire set of references (over 4500 manufacturers contact details) and offers extensive answers to member's queries, thanks to surprisingly intuitive and original research functions.
  Both physical and online databases are updated on a daily basis and grow through the addition of the latest novelties on an international scale.
• A range of consulting services: from recommending a material that adapts to specific needs, to tracking a project through all its phases (advice, choice of materials, production tracking, etc).
• A choice of events such as exhibitions, lectures, training sessions, books...
